In the spirit of the Olympics, here's "an otter" game going on! As long as the ball is in the air, anything can happen. It's what makes it so fun! You see how the kelp almost looks like fire? To me this is the creative spirit. We all have that fire, and we all are creative! The real challenge is to bring this spirit into reality. That's where the beavers come in. These guys are patient. They not only have a dream, they have a strategy. Stick by stick, a handful of mud here and there, they make their vision a reality. And for creative work we need both sides, work and play. You see how the otters get into a rhythm? Many people need music to be motivated. But most people also need something to work towards. A goal, a vision, like the beavers have. That vision I think comes from the inner self. For some people this vision comes naturally, for others like myself it's not always so clear. But little by little, this project is helping me find my way. This is what I'd like this deck to do for you. Not so much tell the future as help define it. Because much of our fate is set by unknown parts of us, the more we can get to know them the closer we can get to an authentic vision for our lives. I'm still trying to figure out how to put that vision into a booklet, but there are many balls in the air and I'm only one little beaver. In the meantime, I hope you're enjoying the animations! I just put four more on my website. |

Watching these guys at work is fascinating. I've tried to re-create the illusion of their process in my animation. Check it out.

Felix's favorite game right now is to run at high speed in the direction of the ball. But he's also a master in the high jumping category.

Myth of Scorpio
This may be the scariest card of my zodiac deck, but also the most meaningful. In the hero myth this is the ultimate challenge. It's when you find out what you're really made of. There are parts of us that are buried underground, like the root of the mandrake, and they can strike at the speed of a comet when we least expect it. As Orion trying to woo Artemis and Louise in "Arrival" both find out, reality bites.

Dream Room
Here's another creative fire going on! Remember the other two room paintings I shared earlier this year? A friend commissioned this one. Her dream is to have a house like this someday, with a sunken living room, mountain views and a golden retriever.
To me these rooms are more like dreams, or inner reality. But perhaps the line is blurry. From the inside of this room, the vision to outer reality is quite clear. Contact me if you'd like to commission a dream room of your own.
